Once again the fabulous Doors Open is coming to Barrie for the 2011 season. Mark Oct. 1, 2011 in your calender for the annual event.
This year’s line-up includes a first look a the new Barrie Community Theatre as well as access to Unity Christian School, the old King Edward Public School (1907) and Maple Hill the 1868 home of Mayor Charles Ross

McGill University County Atlas Project 2001 contains a treasure trove of maps of all Ontario county maps circa 1880.
New photos have been added to the Barrie Union Cemetery picture carousel. Of particular interest are the distinguished vaults of the Ardagh, Gowan and Bird families. some of Barrie’s first families of the mid-19th century.
