Great find on archive.org : St. Mary’s Church Barrie & St. Patrick’s Church Phelpston Parish Guide 1905. (UPDATED 06/12/10)
Included within are advertisements from many of the local stores and a great picture of the original St. Mary’s Church and St. Joseph’s convent. The convent has had a number of uses including school and Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board office in the past. It is presently utilized as business offices and is located at 88 Mulcaster St. – Barrie. Unfortunately St. Mary’s Catholic Church is no longer in existence. It was opposite the convent on Mulcaster, where the current Revenue Canada offices and very flat parking lot exist.
